Originally a volcanic plug located in southern Colorado, its presence within the Cuchara (Spoon) Valley makes it a landmark in the area. Nestled beneath the Huajatolla (Spanish Peaks) mountains it is a favorite place for me. I rode horseback throughout this area when I lived and breathed this special place.
