Forgotten

I started this painting in my home studio because of my love for roaming canyons. This canyon located on Lake Powell will never be forgotten. It is home to ruins and petroglyphs and speaks of a time that today we still ask questions. Where did the ancients go? The desert varnish spills over the slick-rock and carved canyon walls. The painting asks you to go deeper into the canyon to see what is behind the next bend. I hope that you can feel the heat of this day and the hope for some cool pool of water ahead.
